How does revival begin? In a life? In a city? In a nation? We invite you to come and hear from Bishop Olwa whose life was dramatically changed when he encountered Jesus and was called into a lifetime of ministry in the war-ravaged, turbulent country of Uganda. During his ministry, he has seen our heavenly Father do the miraculous as hundreds of thousands have been drawn to lives of committed, joyful faith in Christ. As we long for deeper surrender and greater joy in our own lives, what can we learn from God’s work in Uganda? Raleigh is different, but God is the same. Is there more to God’s work in our own hearts and midst? We believe so. Join us for a time of praise and worship, and come ready to let God stir your heart. Childcare for 5 and under provided. Please contact Robin at rharris@htcraleigh.org if you will need childcare.
About Bishop Olwa
At the moment of his conversion, Alfred, led by the Spirit, became a traveling evangelist. Through the Spirit’s orchestration, Alfred attended seminary and was ordained into the priesthood. Eventually, Alfred went on to receive his master’s and doctoral degrees in the UK and Australia before returning to Uganda to teach at Uganda Christian University (UCU). After a couple of years as professor, Alfred was made dean of UCU’s seminary, a position he held for over a decade. In 2017, Alfred was selected by the Church of Uganda’s College of Bishops and consecrated as the third bishop of the Diocese of Lango. Currently, Alfred pastors 340,000 souls as bishop, spearheads the reconciliation of warring tribes throughout Uganda, supports the global Anglican renewal movement (i.e., GAFCON) as an emerging leader and advances the Christian mission by sending missionaries “up the Nile” to Egypt as disciple makers.
