Message: “Confessions of Augustine: Lecture 4” from Dr. Josh Chatraw

By Angel Oak CreativeApril 28, 2020

A message from the series “Confessions of Augustine.” Book three of Confessions is the beginning of Augustine’s zigzag journey home to God. Augustine will take steps forward but he also stumbles along the way, reminding us that in the messiness of life and even through unexpected sources, God is at work.

Message: “Confessions of Augustine: Lecture 3” from Dr. Josh Chatraw

By Angel Oak CreativeApril 13, 2020

A message from the series “Confessions of Augustine.” Lecture 3, Book 2: “The Misery of Miseducation.” Augustine takes us on a journey through the layers of sin and (de)formation that led him and threatens to lead us away from God, the only true source of hope and joy.

Message: “Holy Week Daily Meditation” from Rev. Dr. John Yates III

By Angel Oak CreativeApril 9, 2020

A message from the series “Holy Week Together 2020.” In John’s final meditation from Matt. 27:11-56 on this Maundy Thursday, take heart that on the cross, Jesus cleared the way to the holy of holies for you and me. We – yes, even we – have been invited to claim him as our saving grace and to enter the holy place of God.

Message: “Holy Week Daily Meditation” from Rev. Dr. John Yates III

By Angel Oak CreativeApril 8, 2020

A message from the series “Holy Week Together 2020.” Why did Peter weep when the rooster crowed at dawn? Was it for Jesus, spat upon and bruised by the blows of soldiers? No. In the darkness of that awful morning, Peter wept for himself. As John reflects on Matt. 26:57−27:10, we see that Peter had to learn the hard way, and only then could he receive what Jesus was prepared to give.
