There is a restlessness affecting our culture. We see it in increased levels of anxiety among every demographic, in widespread discontentment and in our general inability to hold still. We could choose to blame this restlessness on the pandemic, but it has been here longer than any virus and taken root more deeply. Where does this restlessness come from? What does the gospel have to say about it? How can we find rest in the midst of it?
On Friday evening and Saturday morning (April 8 from 7-9pm and April 9 from 8:30am-12:30pm), John Yates will explore this restlessness by looking at the assumptions we make about happiness, the lies we believe about human identity, our unhealthy relationship with time, the problem of dislocation and the challenge of cultivating wisdom in an information age. During this time we will not only take a close look at the state of our world and the status of our hearts, we will look for ways to build healthy habits and allow for the gospel to reshape us in the image of Christ.
