Ministries to refugees are where the global and local mission of God’s people meets the world and our neighbors in their greatest places of need. And in his providence, God has brought global neighbors who have experienced some of the world’s worst tragedies in places like Afghanistan, Syria and Ukraine to Raleigh and the Triangle.
Michele Suffridge, executive director of Refugee Hope Partners, saw refugees arriving in Raleigh and stepped in to welcome them, love them as neighbors and share the gospel with them. What she and a handful of other Christians started as a personal ministry is now Refugee Hope Partners, which serves over 1,200 refugees in the Triangle. Their work is incredible, but help is still needed and there is much to do, including teaching ESL, helping kids with homework, medical ministry and simply being a friend and neighbor.
Join us at our next Refugee Ministry Meeting on Thursday, August 11, 7:00pm at Holy Trinity, to meet Michele and members of the refugee community she serves, to hear about God’s heart for refugees and to learn how you can join God where he is working among them in Raleigh.
