What is Anglicanism? What makes Anglicans – Anglican? Perhaps someone has asked you a question like this before and you felt uncertain on how to respond.
Throughout church history one of the primary ways people affirmed their faith and their mature theological convictions was through the practice of “confirmation.” Our catechism states, “Confirmation is the laying on of the bishop’s hands with prayer for strengthening by the Holy Spirit, following a period of catechetical formation. In confirmation, I make a mature confession of faith, publicly renewing the vows and promises made at my Baptism.” During our five sessions led by Tripp Gordon, we will evaluate the central truths of the Christian faith through the lens of the Anglican tradition by considering:
- What is confirmation?
- What is our foundation?
- What is our history and theology?
- What are our distinctives?
- What is our response?
Those who are curious to know more about these topics are invited to join us along with those seeking confirmation. You may choose to be confirmed or have your confirmation received, but you by no means need to feel obligated to do so! We hope this is a particularly enriching season for those new to Anglicanism or desiring to grow further into the Christian life!

On the night before he died, Jesus commanded his disciples to love one another, as he had loved them. Loving the people in our church seems like an admirable goal, but if we are truthful about it, not everyone is easy to love. So how does Jesus expect us to do this? And, what does loving them entail? Over the course of five weeks, Claudia Greggs will address these questions as we examine love from a gospel perspective and the powerful effect Christ-centered love has on the people who offer it and receive it.

Instead of giving up chocolate or social media for Lent, give up your Monday nights and join us for 6 Steps To Loving Your Church. Have you ever considered that each of us has a ministry when we gather as the church – the ministry of the pew to love, serve and build up one another? If we’re honest, our mindset as we come together has a lot to do with how much or how little we engage with others before, during or after the gathering. In our five sessions led by Jason Palacio and Tripp Gordon, we’ll look at our attitudes towards church and how they are expressed, what the Bible says about the meaning and purpose of church, how we can be active, encouraging servants throughout the morning, rather than just consumers or spectators, and more.
We hope to see you on Monday nights!

Many of you have heard of C.S. Lewis, but how much do you know about him and his works? He wrote nearly 40 books in his lifetime, so it can be challenging to categorize his work and decide which of them to read. Join us on Sunday, March 17 to hear from Mary Susan Fulghum give a talk titled, “C.S. Lewis: The Man, His Works, and How to Read Him.”
Mary Susan has studied the life and works of C.S. Lewis for 45 years, and she loves to share his phenomenal story and frequently speaks about him and his writings. This hobby has been a fascinating faith journey for her and deeply informs her Christian faith today. We’re sure that our time with Mary Susan will pique your interest in C.S. Lewis, and explain her keen interest in sharing Lewis’ story with others.

Join us for Small Dinners on April 5! The deadline to sign up is March. 22. You can sign up in the church lobby after the worship services! Historically, TGIF dinners
Event Details
Historically, TGIF dinners have been larger gatherings of 20-50 guests. As the church has grown, so have these events. Therefore, we are changing things up to offer Small Dinners for 8-10 people across multiple homes on the same night. These more intimate gatherings encourage new and deeper friendships throughout our congregation. There will be a larger gatherings from time to time.
To participate, fill out one of the TGIF cards located on the table in the church lobby after the morning services. On the card, you should indicate if you would like to host a small dinner, be a guest, or either. You can choose any and all dates that work with your schedule. There will be a box in on the table for completed cards.
To determine the dinner groups, the TGIF Committee will draw cards by lot, a Biblical concept, to increase the likelihood that everyone meets new people. You will be contacted by the host if your card is selected.
If you have questions, please contact HTCTGIF@gmail.com.

For four weeks, we will walk kids in grades K-5th through a course called Godly Play, focusing on ways we know and encounter Jesus today. Godly Play is a Christ-centered, hands-on, tactile, wonder-based curriculum that enables space for children to imaginatively engage with the biblical text. At the end of the teaching time, there is space for students to respond by: answering wonder questions, playing with the physical story materials, journaling, or responding creatively with art supplies. This class is taught by Rev. Caleb Burr who leads our Family Ministry team.
Registration is not required to attend.
