Treasuring Christ in a Media Age
Technology and social media present some of the most exciting opportunities for a modern world, but they both undoubtedly present their own challenges. Research continues to correlate social media usage with anxiety and depression, and many find themselves looking at screens more than connecting with other human beings.
During this five-week course, we will walk through these challenges and opportunities filtered through the lens of a biblical worldview.
The first two classes will offer a broad overview of the topic and introduce the concept of “stewardship” of technology. The next two classes focus on the topic of social media, applying principles from the first two sessions. The final class will be a panel discussion with various people in different stages of life from the class, discussing questions and applications that remain in their lives.
This class will meet in between the morning worship services in the Courtyard Classroom and will be taught by Rev. Tripp Gordon and Matt Desmarais.

Bring the whole family (birth-grandparents!) and join the Family Ministry team for a night focusing on one key theme: Technology & Connection–leveraging technology to enhance relational connection. The program begins at 4:00pm and ends at 5:30pm.
The night will begin with 15 minutes of family connection time through family-style games before each group splits into their specific programs (0-5 years old; K-5th graders; middle and high schoolers; parents and grandparents). There will be lots of resources, including summary take-home sheets for every age group to keep the conversation going at home. Pizza will be provided for kids and heavy snacks for parents. Feel free to drop off your little ones in the Young Children’s Wing before the family-style games or right before the parent program. Each age group’s teaching content will focus on this core theme.
Please RSVP HERE for food planning and child program purposes.
