Why Be Involved in a Community Group?
Small groups meeting regularly are integral to our life together at Holy Trinity because we know from Scripture that followers of Jesus are a family. We need one another, and we were created for community as brothers and sisters.
Being involved in a community group is one of the key ways we become disciples of Jesus, people who are learning to proclaim the gospel, exalt the living God and serve the community around us.
It is within community groups that our congregation becomes my congregation, a place of belonging where you are known and using your gifts and talents to come along side others.
What Happens in a Community Group?
A lot! We laugh and talk about all kinds of things, just sharing life and encouraging one another. We dig into Scripture with a desire to see God’s Word change us to be more like Jesus as we respond in obedience. We pray for one another, trusting God’s power to work in us and our circumstances for his praise and glory. We demonstrate the love of Jesus to each other, caring in tangible ways – meals, visits, rides, phone calls, childcare, cards and more. And we serve within our community, becoming God’s hands and feet where we can. Community groups are where our life in Christ is celebrated together.
