WINTER SERMON SERIES

Sunday Morning Services at 9am and 11am

Epiphany Series: Faith(less)

The story of Jesus Christ confronts every one of us with a haunting question: Is he who he claims to be? Throughout the gospels, we encounter those who choose to trust him and those who reject him entirely.  These stories teach us about the character of faith, the wickedness of the human heart, and the power of grace to transform even the worst of sinners. Join us this winter as we explore the stories of those who turned to Jesus in faith and those who turned away faithless.

  • January 12 – Matthew 2: The Wise Men & Herod
  • January 19 – Mathew 8:5-13 (16:1-12): The Centurion & the Pharisees
  • January 26 – Luke 18:18-30; 19:1-10: Zacchaeus & The Rich Young Ruler
  • February 2 – Matthew 26:14-35: Judas & Peter

Sunday Night Church at 5:30pm

Evil spirits. Demons. Ghosts. Magic. Satan.

Do those words speak of a frightening spiritual reality or as the silly remnants of a more superstitious age?

Our world seems to sway between these two reactions. On one level, we have never been more skeptical about ghosts, demons, and Satan. And yet, there are many who still remain deeply fearful of evil spiritual forces and the unseen realm. Christians also find themselves swinging between paying the devil too much attention and not enough.

Join us at Night Church as we explore the Bible to discover the spaces, beings, and master of the unseen realm. We’ll pull back the curtain on the one who is able to reveal its true nature, neutralize its power, and free us to live without fear.

RECENT SERMONS AND TALKS

Rev. Dr. John Yates III - March 6, 2022

Sermon: Life Under the Sun

Scripture References: Ecclesiastes 1:1-18

From Series: "Finding Meaning in a Broken World"

Ecclesiastes is a daring and sometimes disturbing book. It invites us to take a fresh look at the brokenness of this world and then asks if there is any meaning to life. Along the way it exposes our idols, skewers our self-deception and forces us to reckon with the empty promises we have chosen to believe. With brutal honesty, Ecclesiastes dances up to the edge of despair before drawing us back to the God who made us.
