Exploring Global Missions – A World Missions Overview
Come learn about God’s heart for the nations from Abraham to the present! This course will present the biblical, historical, cultural and strategic foundations of world missions and will conclude with ways that you can become involved without leaving home. All of the presentations are grounded in material from the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement text and will be taught by members of the Global Outreach Committee through teaching, videos and Q&A. Join us in the Courtyard Classroom and expand your vision for God’s amazing world!
Adult Confirmation Class, Sundays Between Services, Feb. 26-Mar. 26
Christian formation throughout the centuries has practiced the expression of “confirmation.” The Anglican catechism states, “Confirmation is the laying on of the bishop’s hands with prayer for strengthening by the Holy Spirit, following a period of catechetical formation. In confirmation, I make a mature confession of faith, publicly renewing the vows and promises made at my Baptism.” During our five sessions in the second-floor chapel and led by Tripp Gordon, we will evaluate the central truths of the Christian faith through the lens of the Anglican tradition by considering:
- What is confirmation?
- What is our foundation?
- What is our history and theology?
- What are our distinctives?
- What is our response?
Those who are curious to know more about these topics are invited to join us along with those seeking confirmation. We hope this is a particularly enriching season for those new to Anglicanism or desiring to grow further up and further into the Christian life!
Please note that during the Foundations hour between services, the Young Children’s Wing will be open for children up to five years old, and there is not a class for children K-5th grade outside of the registered First Communion class.
